Note: This role is for a UK Government funded Kickstart six month placement, and will be for 25 hours per week on national minimum wage. Kickstart placements are only for people currently claiming Universal Credit. More information here.
The Community Development Assistant will work alongside the Community Development Officer, Administrator, Chief Executive, Trustees and Volunteers to assist in all areas of running a charity.
Support Groups: Assisting the Development Officer to talk to individuals who use the centre. Setting up equipment, preparing refreshments and clearing away after sessions will be the main duties.
Food projects: You will work alongside volunteers to put out food donations and help to record the amount of food we collect and give away. You will help people in need to access donated food.
Social Media and marketing: You will assist with the organisation’s social media channels, take on responsibility for window displays and other messaging designed to engage people in our activities
Arts/Creativity: You will support the Development Officer to organise the annual Whitley Bay carnival and other arts/crafts activities at the centre.
Other Duties as assigned: Other regular activities include, but are not limited to, supporting fundraising activities, reception cover, general administrative tasks and other reasonable duties as assigned by the Existing Whitley Bay team.
