Note: This role is for a UK Government funded Kickstart six month placement, and will be for 25 hours per week on national minimum wage. Kickstart placements are only for people currently claiming Universal Credit. More information here.
As a Tidy Town Assistant you will be responsible for achieving improved outcomes across a number of existing projects and responding quickly and pro-actively to any environmental issues you encounter. You will work alongside a Tidy Town Worker to safely undertake a range of tasks. Current projects include:
Weeding in Whitley: Providing an additional weed removal service throughout the Big Local Area.
Planter Project: Maintaining WBBL’s planters, as well as caring for other green spaces in the town.
Report and Repair: Walking around the Town Centre, you will provide a visible presence and report on the condition of the local environment, fixing some issues as they arise and logging and reporting others to the Council.
Other core regular activities will include litter picks, reporting vandalism and graffiti, painting, cleaning up and reporting local grot spots, and doing small-scale repairs.
