FLIR ONE® Edge Pro

Whitley Bay Big Local has bought a  FLIR ONE Edge Pro thermal imaging camera, which can be wirelessly connected by clipping it to a smart  phone for one-handed operation. The wireless connection allows the same camera to be used with both Android and iOS devices. All the thermal images and videos are saved directly to the mobile device making them easily accessible for further use.

Connecting the Camera:
You’ll need a smartphone running iOS or Android
For wireless cameras, connect them via Bluetooth.
Download the FLIR app. Once connected, open the FLIR app.

What do the colours mean?
Orange/yellow/white colours
This mean the area is warm - the brighter the colours are, the hotter the area is.
Dark blue/purple
This mean the area is cold - the darker the blue, the colder the area is.

You can use the camera outside your home, where you want to see the cold blue colours, which means your heating is being kept inside your house and you're not wasting your energy use on heating the sky.
If you see bright yellow/white colours on your walls, roof or windows, focus on these areas when looking to improve insulation.

You can also use the camera inside your home, where you want to see the warm yellow colours, which means cold air isn't coming in and your heating isn't escaping out.
If you see dark blue colours, focus on these areas when looking for draughts to plug and areas to better insulate.
